About the Underwriter position

We are looking for a reliable Underwriter who will help our company researching potential customers’ risk factors and developing the measures of coverage. We expect you to be able to plan and organize activities resulting in securing an average proportion of good risks in order to keep average claims cost low making it possible for the company to set lower net costs for its insurance products and services.

 

Underwriter responsibilities are:

  • Explore insurance applications verifying their compliance and adherence
  • Work together with other specialists to gather information
  • Explore clients’ financial status and background information
  • Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives
  • Interact with brokers or policyholders to agree on specific terms of insurance policies
  • Create and organize records of policies underwritten and decisions made
  • Manage risks to achieve predictability of future insurance activities results
  • Create and manage a profitable book of business for the insurer
  • Manage competitive insurance premiums
  • Ensure the compliance with insurance laws

 

Underwriter requirements are:

  • 3+ years' experience of working on a insurance Underwriter or other relevant position
  • Solid experience of working with insurance policies and relating policy provisions to the loss exposures
  • Good practical experience with financial and insurance software٫ analytical tools and statistical packages such as spreadsheets٫ SPSS٫ databases and so on
  • Strong decision maker with sensible judgement and close attention to detail
  • Strong numeracy and statistical skills
  • Insurance diploma or certification
  • BS degree in Business Administration٫ Finance or other related area
