About the Accounts Receivable Clerk Position

Our team is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated worker to join us as an Accounts Receivable Clerk. The person in this role will be responsible for managing incoming payments on client accounts. You’ll send out invoices, collect payment information, and help customers resolve any payment issues they might face.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need previous experience with various accounting software platforms and strong organizational skills, even while working in a fast-paced environment. 

Accounts Receivable Clerk Responsibilities

  • Manage company accounts in compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Create and send bills and invoices to clients
  • Process incoming payments, including verifying the amount and ensuring that payments are credited to the correct account
  • Reconcile accounts on a regular basis
  • Maintain a database of customer information, including payment records and any discrepancies or adjustments
  • Assist customers with any inquiries they may have regarding their payments, bills, or accounts
  • Notify customers of upcoming payments and send overdue account notices
  • Make deposits at the bank on a [daily/weekly] basis
  • Generate reports and/or statements as requested by the finance manager
  • Assist the finance manager with various tasks as needed

Accounts Receivable Clerk Requirements

  • [2+] years experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar role 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BA/BS in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting best practices
  • Proficient in accounting software, such as Intuit QuickBooks or SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including using formulas
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Superb mathematical and data entry skills
  • Must be able to accurately work with numbers in a fast-paced environment
