About the Personal Banker Position
We’re seeking a responsible, client-oriented finance worker to join our team as a Personal Banker. In this position, you’ll be responsible for working closely with clients to tailor their banking experience to their needs, from recommending account types to assisting with credit lines.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need great customer service skills to build lasting relationships with clients. In addition, you’ll need excellent communication skills. Top-notch problem solving skills and a deep understanding of banking practices are also a must.
Personal Banker Responsibilities
- Recommend banking services and products to clients based on their individual needs
- Manage client accounts
- Provide prompt and accurate service to clients, answering queries and helping solve issues
- Assist with all client needs, including but not limited to managing deposits and withdrawals, taking payments, and verifying bank account details
- Assist in preparing paperwork to open and close accounts, including gathering identification, getting signatures, and assigning account numbers
- Maintain cash drawer while staying within maximum limits
- Process applications for loans, credit cards, and safe deposit boxes
- Refer clients to other banking professionals in the company as needed, such as loan officers
- Comply with all mandatory regulatory requirements
Personal Banker Requirements
- B.A./B.Sc. in finance, accounting, business, or related field preferred
- [2+] years experience working as a Personal Banker
- Certification by the American Institute of Banking (AIB) recommended but not required
- Superb knowledge of banking practices, regulations, services, and products
- Excellent customer service, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office SuiteÂ
- Professional appearance and demeanor
