About the Web Designer Position
We’re seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced Web Designer to build dynamic websites for our clients. As a Web Designer, you’ll use your knowledge of coding paired with an excellent understanding of visual design to help bring our clients’ visions to life.
To succeed as a Web Designer, you’ll need strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in graphic design software is also a must.
Web Designer Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to help conceptualize their initial ideas
- Draft storyboards of the website, noting changes where requested
- Create sample pages to decide on stylistic choices, such as colors, fonts, and spacing
- Code the website, testing and making improvements throughout the process
- Ensure that the website is user-friendly and easy to navigate
- Design graphics for websites, ensuring that each element matches the client’s desired branding
- Maintain and update the website as needed using different content management systems
- Prepare wireframes and site maps for reference
- Incorporate any desired functions and features into the design, making suggestions for improvement when needed
- Create backup site files for security purposes
Web Designer Requirements
- [3+] years experience as a Web Designer or in a similar role
- BA/BS in computer science, web design, or related field of study a plus
- Must be proficient in different front-end programming languages, including HTML and CSS, JavaScript, and React
- Must have strong knowledge of graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Must be knowledgeable in content management systems and search engine optimization principles
- Must be creative with an ability to problem solve by thinking outside the box
- Superb written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be a team player
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Must be able to meet deadlines
