Preschool Teacher Job Description

About the Preschool Teacher Position

We’re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team of educators. As a Preschool Teacher, you’ll be responsible for helping children learn social skills and providing them with an educational foundation that they’ll use throughout their time in school. 

Preschool Teacher Responsibilities

• Lead multiple preschool-aged children in a classroom, working to teach them both social skills and educational foundations, such as colors and numbers
• Prepare weekly lesson plans that are age-appropriate, allowing students to more easily grasp concepts
• Use creative educational theories to teach, including songs, games, and stories
• Work with students to enforce rules in the classroom and on the playground, demonstrating safe and friendly behavior
• Keep a clean and safe classroom environment
• Provide reports to parents and school administrators on students’ progress
• Adhere to school and state learning standards, preparing students for standardized testing

Preschool Teacher Requirements

• BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or similar degree, with current required licensing
• [1+] years of experience as a Preschool Teacher or in a similar role
• Excellent knowledge of child development and current educational theories
• Superb communication skills with both children and adults
• A creative, playful mindset that allows for making lessons fun and interactive
• Excellent multitasking skills and attention to detail
