About the Media Buyer position
We are looking to hire a Media buyer who will negotiate and purchase advertising inventory for clients. Your charge will be to ensure that advertisements will be high-qualityÙ« reaching target audiences at the lowest possible prices. To do this job effectivelyÙ« you should possess great critical thinking skillsÙ« effective negotiating strategyÙ« and the ability to build a lasting relationship and rapport with clients. Your goal as Media Buyer is to stay within budget while still optimizing advertising exposure while outdoing the competition.
Media Buyer responsibilities are:
- Build long-term relationships with the clients to whom you report
- Monitor Return On Investment (ROI) as well as costs.
- Ensure that advertisements are appropriately displayed and creative.
- Be creative-- experiment with new platforms and channels
- Maintain and adjust scheduling on an as-needed basis
- Analyze and optimize plans and budgets according to best-fit media
- Work with clients to negotiate spaceÙ« airtimeÙ« and rate(s)
- Assist in identifying target audiences
- Plan media campaigns
Media Buyer qualifications are:
- Outstanding critical thinkingÙ« attention to detailÙ« organizationalÙ« and negotiation skills.
- Interest in media and media trends
- Ability to multitask
- Working knowledge of media softwareÙ« including but not limited to comScoreÙ« and others.
- Comfortable with media-buyingÙ« researchÙ« and planning.
- Proven experience in similar role such as Media BuyerÙ« experience in digital media is particularly preferred.
- BSc/BA in AdvertisingÙ« MarketingÙ« or similar field.
